Scannable for Manufacturers | NFC Rope Label Printing

Scannable for Manufacturers | Label Printing

Introduction

Manufacturers can print NFC adhesive labels directly from Scannable, without any third party label printing software. These labels include product information, serial numbers, and embedded NFC tags that link to each unique item. This guide explains how label printing works and how to preview or print labels for a serial run.

When Labels Are Used

After a serial run is created with the serial numbers for each rope length:

  • Attach the serial number to the product

  • Efficiently link an NFC tag automatically as the printer has the NFC function built in

  • Ensure equipment owners can scan, identify, and add items to their inventory

  • Provide product specs and compliance information directly on the label

Printing NFC Labels

From any serial run, you can print labels using the Print All Labels action.

How it works

  • You can print one or two labels for each serial number / item

  • Labels include:

    • Product information

    • Serial number

    • Batch number

    • Manufacturer details

    • Customer logo

  • Each printed label contains an NFC tag, which is scanned by the printer and linked/associated with the serial number/unique item.

Single- or Double-End Labels

For ropes, manufacturers may choose:

  • Single labels

  • Double labels (two identical NFC tags for each rope end)

This setting is configured by Scannable within the system and is not user configurable.

Other Print Options

In the label printing menu, manufacturers can also:

Print First Label

Prints only the first label in the sequence.

Useful for checking:

  • Layout

  • Logo placement

  • Text alignment

  • NFC encoding behaviour

Print One Serial

Enter a specific serial number to reprint a single label.

This is helpful when:

  • A label is damaged

  • A tag fails during printing

  • A label goes missing

Previewing the Label Layout

From the product/SKU page, you can review the label layouts while populating the data that is used on the labels.

Label Preview Details

From the SKU’s context menu, select Preview Label to see the complete label layout.

The preview shows:

  • SKU name

  • Rope type, diameter, length

  • Certifications (e.g., UIAA)

  • Serial number

  • Batch number

  • Manufacture date

  • Country of origin

  • Customer logo placeholder

This preview displays the precise information that will be printed.
