If you produce cut-to-length products — rope, webbing, lanyard stock, or anything else cut from a reel or roll — you can now cut it into individually serialised lengths.
Before you start: mark the item cuttable
An item needs to be marked cuttable before it shows up in the cut-rope wizard's source list.
When adding a new item, there's a cuttable option at add-time.
For items already in your inventory, open the item's Update information screen and turn on Allow cutting. This adds it to the wizard's source list — turning it off removes it again, without needing to re-add the item.
Cutting from the mobile app
From the manufacturer Home screen, use the Cut rope lengths quick action — or open the item directly and choose Cut rope lengths from its options menu.
Pick or scan the source item.
If the batch number or date of manufacture is missing, you'll be asked to record it.
Choose the cut-rope product and how many lengths to cut.
Generate a serial for each cut — or, if you've already got pre-printed labels, link those serials instead.
If a label serial has already been used elsewhere, you'll be told as soon as you scan it — the rest of the run isn't affected.
Managing the source list
Each item in the wizard's source list has a ⋯ menu:
Update information — correct details on the item.
Remove — take it off the list. You'll be asked whether to just stop it being used as a cut source (it stays in your inventory) or remove it from inventory entirely.
Printing labels
Once a run's cuts are generated, it hands off to a print screen — pick your printer, then print all the labels or just the first one. If the printer rejects a print, that's flagged on the run so you know to retry it.
Resuming a run
If you left a capture session open, go to the Production tab and use Capture serial on that run's menu to pick up where you left off — serials you've already captured still count toward the total. This also works on an individual production line within a multi-product run.
Finding runs on the Production tab
The Production tab lists every serial run by PO and batch.
Quick filters on the list itself: print status, serial source, serial format.
Full filters screen: session status, customer, product category, product, date range.
Search by sales order, PO, batch, or serial number.
Tap any run to see its individual serials, or open one directly.
